2015 Heaney Lectures

In 2000, Seamus Heaney agreed to lend his name to a public lecture series to be hosted by St. Patrick’s College, Dublin City University. This year's Heaney lectures  will be devoted to The History of Education, with particular reference to Ireland.
The lectures are free of charge and open to the public.  They will take place in the Cregan Library at 7:00 p.m.  Dates and themes are:
Tuesday, 17 November: ‘Secondary School Education in Ireland: History, Memories and Life Stories, 1922-1967’  - Judith Harford (UCD), Tom O’Donoghue (University of Western Australia), 

Tuesday 24 November‘Twentieth-century School architecture’  - Catherine Burke (Cambridge University), 
Tuesday 1 December: David Fitzpatrick (Trinity College, Dublin), ‘Knowledge, Belief, and the Irish Revolution: the impact of schooling’
