Blackrock Education Centre is currently looking for experienced Learning Support teachers interested in further training with a view to supporting local teachers as mentor and tutor. 
Also, the DES funds a number of places on Post Graduate Learning Support Programmes every year.

Blackrock Education Centre, in collaboration with PDST is offering professional development possibilities for some local experienced Learning Support teachers.  For more information contact Pat Seaver at 23 65 000
 
The Department of Education and Skills currently funds the provision of a number of Post Graduate Programmes as follows:

  1. The Combined Post Graduate Diploma Programme of CPD for Teachers involved in Learning Support & Special Education (Circular 0001/2014), available in seven Universities/Colleges of Education.
  2. The Post Grad Cert/Diploma Programme of CPD for Teachers working with Students with SEN (ASD) (Circular 0002/2014) provided by St. Angela’s College, Sligo in collaboration with the SESS.
  3. The Graduate Cert in the Education of Students with ASDs (Circular 0003/2014) provided by St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.

The Circulars and application forms are available on the Department's website www.education.ie Completed applications forms should be received in the College or University of choice by 5 p.m. on the 28th February 2014.
