Women, Mobile Learning & STEM

UNESCO Mobile Learning Week 2015, co-hosted by UN women, will take place from 23rd-27th February.  It will focus on the potential of mobile technology to empower women and girls.  To give Irish women and girls a voice at the conference, an online campaign has been organised. Its purpose is to capture experiences of using mobile devices in everyday life, in the context of learning, entertainment, collaboration, communication and, particularly, work in areas of STEM.  The objective is to encourage wide participation and diversity of experience.
Women and girls are asked to upload an image of themselves via Twitter to @NewsTalkFM using the hashtag #MLW2015 (Mobile Learning Week, 2015), stating how they use their phones for work or learning. An example tweet could be 'I use my phone to ....'  The image can be an individual with their science project, homework, a video created, a favourite view, a business,  work in STEM,  with a group of friends. Options are limitless, yet personal.  The campaign will start Tuesday Jan 27th and run for two weeks.  These images will be collated by editors at Newstalk to create a rich digital experience and be shared with an international audience.
