Has your school registered for the Write a Book Project this year?
Please bring in your class books to Blackrock Education Centre on Thursday, 6th February, 2014 between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm.
WE CAN ONLY ACCEPT BOOKS FROM SCHOOLS WHO HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED..  

Blackrock Education Centre is currently looking for experienced Learning Support teachers interested in further training with a view to supporting local teachers as mentor and tutor. 
Also, the DES funds a number of places on Post Graduate Learning Support Programmes every year.

Parents who completed their SpeakEasy course received their certification this week in the Centre.  This Speak Easy Plus course is designed to provide parents with the information, confidence and skills to talk about growing up and relationships and sexuality to their children, teenagers and young adults. with intellectual disabilities.

Have you ever wished you’d read Ulysses - that you got past chapter 3? You’ve probably tried it a few times and given up in frustration. While it  has a reputation for being difficult, Ulysses rewards persistence and is worth the effort for the lifelong enjoyment it affords.
 
 

Léargas is holding an eTwinning Professional Development Workshop in Dublin for post- primary teachers from November 29th to December 1st.

A special information evening for parents as part of Maths Week Ireland, called Encouraging Your Child to have Confidence in Maths, will take place in the Centre on Tuesday, October 15th at 7:30 p.m.   Places are limited and booking is essential.

 

 

Éanna Ní Lamhna is renowned for her expertise in the area of environmental studies.  In this information evening she demonstrates some of her favourite digital resources for use in the classroom.  Additional resources will be distributed to participants.  

More and more schools are considering use of apps as a method of school communication.  This information session will highlight possibilities and explore the possibility that your school might participate in a pilot School’s APP Deployment.
