PRESSED is an exhibition of contemporary print curated by Graphic Studio Dublin at the invitation of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to engage with a wide range of rich and evocative fine art works created by print practitoners living in, working in or originally from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. It also presents the chance to gain an insight into the world of fine art print and the techniques and processes used.  Guided tours for classes can be provided.

A new 5 week course will be offered this term entitled Dyslexia: Origins and Interventions.  It will examine causes, types and systemic difficulties encountered by learners with dyslexia. The second part will be hands-on workshops enabling teachers to develop and use evidence-based successful interventions in their classrooms. This is a 5 week course - Mondays 7.30 - 9.30pm.  To book a place in this course click here.

Examining how physical literacy might be improved through physical education, extra-curricular sport and physical activities in schools; this exciting new initiative is trialling with a small number of local schools in the academic year 2013/2014.

The seminar will outline some of the requirements needed to make the most of the broadband to be provided, outline the Microsoft Office 365 offering for education, and demonstrate examples of how a range of free Microsoft tools and CPD can be used to enhance teaching and learning in your school through the Partners in Learning Network. H2 Learning will also demonstrate some of the Windows 8 tablet devices now available.

A technical briefing will take place in Blackrock Education Centre on Tuesday June 11th at 5:00 p.m. 
This briefing will deal with the technical aspects of your 100 Mb connection to the school, but of equal importance, how this broadband can be most effectively distributed throughout the entire school.
The briefing will be given by Tom Lonergan of PDST / Technology in Education (formerly NCTE).  Tom has particular expertise in the types of wireless solutions that will and will not work in school settings.  Some schools have made costly mistakes in the past when installing wireless.  We are anxious that these mistakes will not be repeated.
