Assessment and Feedback to all Learners NIPTWS06 The workshop aims to equip NQTs with a range of assessment methodologies which can be effectively applied across the curriculum. NCCA materials are central to the workshop and an NIPT A-Z of Assessment across different subjects will be explored in order to look at how different assessment methodologies apply across different subjects. Participants share examples of work to date and examine ways of building and developing assessment to assist with effective planning, teaching and learning in the classroom.

A collaborative event between Blackrock Education Centre and Sustainable Energy Ireland, typical annual savings of participant schools have been in the order of 10% - 20%. Aimed towards principals or other members of management, involves two half-day workshops where schools are given access to a range of resources and expert advice. Places are extremely limited, participants must commit to attendance at both workshops and must submit utility bills to the facilitator in advance.

This course comprises of 2 evening sessions in Blackrock Education Centre on 27th Nov & 4th Dec, in between there is a field trip to Sandycove beach from 9.30am - 12.00pm Intro to the Course – our philosophy of introducing marine subjects into the SESE curriculum to meet the needs of teachers and pupils / Ireland-History and the Sea: How Ireland Really IS a Maritime Nation Inner and Outer Space Why the tides come in and out /the influence of the moon and the sun/tide tables/tidal energy/wave energy. Inner space – the oceans as a hostile environment. Marine Life on other planets – Jupiter’s moon Europa Ocean monitoring from space – algal blooms, pollution incidents, what we can tell about climate change using satellites. Multi-Grade Teaching in the Primary School NIPTWS14 This interactive workshop focuses on four main areas from a multi-grade perspective: differentiation, teaching methodologies, classroom management and planning. Opportunities are afforded to NQTs to engage with a variety of methodologies throughout the workshop. Useful strategies and resources for NQTs subbing in a multi-grade setting are also explored.
