One of the most effective ways to teach a language is to get the students to speak it. This is a problem that many teachers grapple with. Although the target language is used in class, it is often the teacher that does most of the talking. Genuine target language conversations involving pupils are hard to achieve. The French & German teacher of this Workshop will demonstrate 4 steps using various IT techniques to get the students talking. Many other tips, tricks and IT resources will be demonstrated to make the class enjoyable and target language focused. Feel free to bring your own device!

Droichead is a new model of induction and probation for newly qualified teachers (NQTs). The Council’s policy on this new model was developed following a consultation process, which took place in 2013. It refers to that period of supported professional practice which an NQT will undertake following initial registration. In this Information session for post primary principals on Droichead principals will be provided with information on the Droichead model with an opportunity to ask questions about the Droichead process.
