Message from the Director
As we come to the end of the final week of the current academic year, I am writing to thank you for all of the great work you have been doing this year, especially over the last few months. It has been an extremely busy, often stressful, and very productive time for us all. We have had to be responsive and innovative, and at times it has not been at all easy for those involved in education.
I hope that the work we have done at Blackrock Education Centre, in providing webinars and courses online, has helped support you and your teachers and SNAs in their work. We did our best to respond to your needs and hope that we have been successful in this.
As we now look towards the new academic year, which is shrouded in uncertainty, it promises to be a summer of organisation and preparation for a new reality. We hope that our Summer Course and our Autumn Programmes will support you in this work and will be relevant to your personal and professional lives.
We have just published our Summer Course Programme of webinar style and online courses. Please see full details on our website www.blackrockec.ie
We are also currently organising our local courses beginning late August and early September. These will be published on our website in July.
Our predominant themes for our webinar style courses in the Autumn, based on your feedback from our provision to date, will be:
Remote Learning, ICT, Trauma Informed Schools, Nurturing Schools, Transitioning back to school, Wellbeing and Resilience, and Support Groups/Professional Learning Communities.
As the Support Services provide us with courses in their usual areas of expertise and the curriculum, we will also be hosting those.
We hope that these courses will support your needs.
If there are any other particular courses or themes that you would like us to consider and provide, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Finally, thank you for your engagement with Blackrock this year. We have really enjoyed working with you!
We hope that you will have a lovely summer and will find some time for a good rest and a break.
Susan and Sandra
