25LC 01 013 ESCI -  Why is Blood so Important for our Body?

Meet the scientist Marina Zaki, Blood Collector Trinity College, Dublin. She will cover:

- What human blood is (i.e. what it consists of, where it goes in our bodies and why our bodies needs it to function properly.) - Blood has many functions  do you know what some of these are? Hint/some examples:

it is necessary to carry an important gas around the body, and important nutrients to an important organ.

- Along with her work friends (colleagues), she asks patients if they would like to donate some of their blood. Marina will talk about what they do with this blood and why it is so important for scientific and medical research.

You can ask our speakers any questions you have about what they do in their jobs! They'll only be too happy to explain : )
