Do your students lack resilience? Do they focus primarily on their failures rather than on their successes? Do setbacks overwhelm them? Do they find it difficult to deal with challenging emotions?
In our courses, we help students/teachers to understand how differing mindsets become established and how understanding the science of how the brain works can help people to change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour to create a more positive outlook on life. ‘Knowledge is power’ and understanding how mindsets work is the first step towards creating more optimism, resilience, wellbeing and emotional self-awareness in people, young and old. The concept of Growth Mindset is immensely practical and can be applied directly in school and family life. It can help teachers to recognise and address unhelpful patterns of thinking in themselves and in their students. It gives you a mirror into your own beliefs and values which will empower you to subtly address attitudes and approaches that may be less than effective in your classroom.
