Summer Course 25LC 07 003 - Food Sustainability and Biodiversity – Using Nature and Food to teach STEM - Airfield Estate

Use the link between biodiversity and sustainable food systems to integrate real-life examples of STEM into the classroom.
Create lesson plans that utilise sustainable food systems and biodiversity as a conduit for STEM, literacy, numeracy as well as physical and mental well-being.
Use SSE to maximise the effectiveness of teaching biodiversity and sustainable food production in the classroom and through the school as a whole.
Implement correct health and safety procedures within a classroom environment (inc. simple food safety, knife skills, correct food handling, garden safety and safety for outdoor experiments).
Identify and be confident in using different biodiversity experiments and observations, cooking techniques and be able to compare and contrast them using a scientific understanding of the processes.
The booking fee is non-refundable. All Summer Courses qualify for EPV days provided you complete the full course over 5 days. Blackrock Education Centre has the right to cancel a course if we DO NOT have the minimum numbers required.
