Chinese Summer School July 2022

Dear members,

I am forwarding an e-mail form Dr Weiming Liu in DCU about a Chinese summer school.

My name is Weiming Liu. I work in the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (SALIS) at Dublin City University (DCU). I am writing today to introduce you to our 2022 Chinese Summer School and was also wondering if you could kindly circulate the information to your members or anyone who might be interested in it.

The DCU 2022 Chinese Summer School offers two exciting weeks learning Chinese culture and language in July 2022 to students in their Junior and Senior Cycle. DCU has a long established expertise in teaching Chinese language and culture and now offers a Summer School which includes a wide range of dynamic, fun activities that will be an introduction to Chinese to young learners. The programme offered at the Summer School looks at the Chinese community in Ireland, the Chinese overall context, and provides students with an introduction to Chinese language and culture.

The Summer School comprises a 10-day programme, with academic seminars as well as ludic activities and a museum visit. Attendees will have experienced teachers and they do not need to know Chinese previously. DCU is a forerunner in Higher Education and we would be delighted to welcome interested students to our Glasnevin Campus in Dublin. This summer Camp is being funded by Post-Primary Languages Ireland and will remain free. Please contact us as soon as possible to ensure your place!

There is a dedicated webpage that the FHSS just created for us, please distribute also: https://www.dcu.ie/salis/dcu-2022-chinese-summer-school
